It's official - Stewart Mandel is crazy

He does the college football power rankings on SI.com, in case you didn't know.

He has his own biases and preferences, but this week he's off the charts.

  • He has mediocre 3-2 Illinois at 16, because their two losses were to really good teams.   Hey, Virginia has lost to really good teams.  You gonna put them in the top 20?
  • He's riding the Vanderbilt hype train and puts them at 14.  They won last week by one point after Auburn gift-wrapped the game and handed it to them.
  • He's got Utah at 12 because they're undefeated.  Who have they played, exactly?  They barely beat the Oregon State team that needed a fourth-quarter interception to barely beat USC?
  • Bama barely beats Kentucky and Stewart ranks them #2.  Georgia barely loses to Bama and they're 10th.
  • He has Mizzou at 3, just like everybody did last year before they belly-flopped out of the BCS entirely.
Stewart, you need to WATCH THE GAMES and not just look at the final score or what the polls are saying.  Jeez!
